RESEARCH

My research centers on how individuals and communities organize social networks to manage uncertainty and enact resilience, especially when enduring or overcoming hardships.

I have secured over $66,350 in awards and grants to support my work. My research is published in cross-disciplinary outlets such as Management Communication Quarterly, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Media and Communication, Journal of the Association for Information Sycience and Technology, and Natural Hazards Review.

MENTORSHIP

My proficiency in mixed and multiple research methods (e.g., network, quantitative, qualitative, and computational), paired with my servant leadership and tutoring experience, enables me to be a supportive mentor for students and developing scholars.

The purpose of my dissertation is to examine how Facebook Groups offered spaces for community organizing for disaster relief and facilitated Camp Fire survivors’ resilience and recovery. I was funded on a year-long Purdue Research Foundation grant for this project.
